Production Control Manager2010-03-10Inline Plastics Corp.
Develops the manufacturing plan for the coming months by applying forecasting techniques to quarterly and historical sales data. Analyzes inventory levels of raw materials and corrugated in conjunction with the manufacturing plan to develop the material requirements plan. Prepares purchase orders to satisfy the MRP, communicates with vendors and expedites orders as necessary. Considers business seasonality and resource constraints (staffing, tooling, etc.) including available capacity when developing the production schedule in order to maintain specified customer service levels. Communicates, as necessary, with Customer Service, Sales, Warehouse and Production Departments to smoothly coordinate scheduling changes. Interfaces with the Receiving Department for prioritization and delivery of raw materials. Creates, maintains and updates reports including, but not limited to, the following: Monthly capacity utilization plan, Daily, weekly, monthly production schedule, Manufacturing data by item code (BOM and other), Quarterly raw material forecasts for vendors, Current and prior year’s monthly sales data (total, variance, std deviation), Annual raw material consumption by supplier, Utilizes the Company’s Business Software and expands its use in the areas of forecasting, scheduling, planning, etc., Determines re-order points for raw materials and finished goods and economic production quantities for manufactured goods using analytical methods. Insures Company's compliance with appropriate governmental regulatory requirements and promotes affirmative action compliance. A Bachelor of Science Degree (B.S.) in Industrial Engineering, Industrial Technology or Business majoring in Operations Management, from four year college and 5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment performing production planning and/or production control. Strong analytical and computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel spreadsheets & data base programming). APICS Certification strongly preferred. Hours are Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:30pm.

Purchasing Manager2010-03-10Bard Access Systems
POSITION SUMMARY The Purchasing Manager will manage the supplier base and procurement personnel to ensure the appropriate utilization of resources (and suppliers), to effectively and efficiently provide the necessary and required, quality and availability of product at the lowest ultimate cost to the organization. The incumbent is accountable for the planning and management of all items consumed in the manufacturing process including both expense and inventory items. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Lead and organize the Purchasing group by developing and managing suppliers, control material cost, create and support supply chain metrics. Ensure price, delivery and quality of materials and services to meet contractual requirements in accordance with established processes while meeting internal and external customer needs and deadlines. Partner with other departments, divisions and corporate to achieve organization objectives – • Support R&D and New Product Development team to lead the effort in the development of new sources of supply. • Coordinate with the Planning function for the timely receipt of materials in support of new product launches. • Work in conjunction with Accounting to establish annual standards for purchase materials. Predict and monitor cash-flow requirements for expense and inventory requirements. • Partner with the Quality Department to drive continuous improvement to the existing supplier base and Supplier Management process. • Function as member of the Material Review Board, Purchasing Council and other teams as assigned. Research the market for new and alternative options to continually improve the organization’s efficiency and profitability. Evaluate and compare contractual requirements to supplier performance. Direct any troubleshooting efforts to manage resolution of supplier-related issues associated with delivery, capacity, quality or cost. As manager for the Buyer team, will provide technical leadership and training to increase the overall competencies and quality of the team by managing and prioritizing team workload and assignments as needed. Utilize MFG PRO and MS Office applications to manage the supply chain process. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Must possess knowledge of the procurement process supporting the medical industry working in an FDA, GMP and ISO environment coupled with knowledge and understanding of Total Quality Management (TQM). Requires a BS/BA in Operations, Business or an appropriate technical discipline in a related field plus five years experience in procurement management or equivalent. Must be a strong negotiator and skilled in pricing and cost analysis/cost reduction techniques. APICS and/or PMA certification is preferred. This position requires demonstrated verbal and written communication skills coupled with strong interpersonal skills. Expert level working knowledge of MRP systems is required, prefer MFG PRO. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS • Well defined negotiation skills with the ability to negotiate least cost-highest delivered value materials. • Ability to efficiently multi-task. • Knowledge of current scheduling techniques. • Analytical skills and ability to organize and summarize status to objectives. • Knowledge of inventory valuation methods and standard costing systems. ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP This position reports to the Plant Manager, who in turn reports to the Staff VP of Manufacturing. Positions reporting to this position may include, but are not limited to: Senior Buyers, Buyers, Associate Buyers and Purchasing Assistant. PRINCIPAL CHALLENGES AND PROBLEM SOLVING The principal challenge is to continuously ensure the availability of quality product at the appropriate time and at the lowest ultimate cost. To support all developmental team(s) objectives while minimizing the expenditure of funds. Goals and objectives are also a challenge of this position. The management of the supplier base and provide training and development to the purchasing staff is critical to the success and regulatory compliance of C.R. BARD.
